Winter, cold and often unrelenting, always reminds us of solitude. She allows us time to reflect on ourselves, to consider the human condition, to take overview of the past year, and what a year it has been. The work in this issue comes from thoughts of self, of love and loss, of our cultural and political landscapes. We survived 2018.
This issue is the kick-off to a celebratory period of twenty years of Stirring. It includes poems from Natalie Crick, Jessica Mehta, John Sibley Williams, and Ben McClendon. It also includes fiction from Amanda Malone and two flash CNF pieces from Gwyneth Henke. Book reviews are from Alessio Franko and our newly reinstated staff writer, Donna Vorreyer, and art from Dana Potter, Olivia Lichterman, Kelly Moore, and Ana Prundaru, all guest edited by Katherine Bell.
Keep an eye out for the many ways we will be celebrating this year through our website and social media.
