JAMES CROAL JACKSON

Carrot Smoothie

You say it’s a little pulpy, but Tang
orange is my favorite color. I ask
what’s in it? You say coconut,
apple, a clementine for kick.
Its gritty texture turns you off though
we agree it tastes amazing– a basket
of fruit tumbles past the tongue. Can’t
taste the carrot though we know it is
there. Haven’t talked about love lately.
Our breakfasts have been blending
fruits together, drinking them in silence.
At least we have one thing sweet.
At least we drink it easy.
